Tour of Kata-Tjuta (The Olga Gorge)
Uluru National Park

Thursday October 25, 2007 (Day 9)

Tour of Kata-Tjuta

Today we traveled by airplane from Cairns to Ayers Rock (Uluru to the Aboriginals). As we where approaching the airport we could see thew huge Ayers rock off to our right hand side of the airplane. It was interesting that the time zone had changed nut by a full hour but by 1/2 and hour. I expected that it would be really hot in the interior of Australia but this day it was cool as it had rained the evening before.

Once we where in our hotel the first order of business was a tour via 8 passenger van to the Uluru National park which is 450 kilometers south-west of Alice Springs and it encompasses just a small portion of the vastness of central Australia.

We where traveling down the road when from the back seat we all hear "Camel". We, everyone, looked every which way except where the camel was. Diana has spotted a wild camel. There are millions of wild camels in Australia.
